Many forget now, but before Taylor Swift was a pop superstar, she got her start in country music specifically with a song aptly named “Tim McGraw.”
With her country roots firmly planted, Swift gave her Nashville fans quite the surprise during a concert for her record-breaking Reputation Stadium Tour on Saturday, August 25.
Since she was performing in the country music capital, the 28-year-old couldn’t help but belt out her hit “Tim McGraw” and did so by bringing out both the song’s namesake and his famous wife, Faith Hill! Swift performed the first part of the song with a piano solo before declaring, “Make some noise for Faith Hill, Nashville.”
After the duo sang the second verse and chorus, things got even better when McGraw also took to the stage to perform the song’s bridge solo and then all three ended it off together. While fans were ecstatic to see two country music legends make a surprise appearance, they were suspecting someone would be there because Swift has become known for surprising her crowds by bringing other stars on stage with her.
Following the show, McGraw took to his Instagram to share a photo of all three on stage with the caption,” Man, how cool can it be for a guy?!! Thanx Taylor for having us on your stage…we had a blast!”
Swift also shared several photos from the huge concert, writing, “Nashville, last night was the first time I got to headline that stadium. Every second of the show meant so much to me, and I’m so grateful to @thetimmcgraw and @faithhill for coming out to sing ‘Tim McGraw’ with me. I first came to this city in search of a record deal when I was 11! I’m just as enamored by being here now all these years later. Thanks for an unforgettable night.”
