Teen Mom OG star Amber Portwood is opening up for the first time since her July 5, 2019 arrest.

On September 3, Amber appeared on the second part of the Teen Mom OG season reunion after Dr. Drew traveled to Indiana to tape her segment when she was able to attend the actual reunion in New York.

During her sit-down with Dr. Drew, Amber slammed the reports that she attacked her estranged boyfriend Andrew Glennon with a machete while he was holding their son James. “A text message, by the way. I just want to point that out real quick to everybody. But I ran after him with a machete,” Amber said sarcastically. “Let me tell you what, if somebody’s coming after me with something like that, I’m calling the f–king police and running out the door.”

“I opted out of drug court a long time ago to put myself in prison to help myself,” she also said. “You haven’t heard s–t from me since then. I haven’t got in trouble one time. But all of a sudden, I’m running after my kid and [Andrew] with a machete? You’re insane.”

Portwood, who is also mom to daughter Leah with ex Gary Shirley, also revealed that Andrew is already dating someone new. “There’s some narcissism here that I can’t comprehend at the moment,” Portwood added. “If it takes you less than two weeks to ask a woman to come to Indiana… Well, I’ve already talked to her. She’s a good person. She’s very nice, a very sweet person.”

Meanwhile Gary Shirley and his wife Kristina also formed a united front in support of Amber on the reunion. “I care about Amber. I have love for her as a person and as the mother of my kid I don’t want anything to happen to her,” Gary shared.

“We have done a very good job the last couple of years of coming together and being one unit for Leah’s sake, for our sake,” he explained. “I wan’t to make sure that you’re not going to harm yourself because we’re here for you.”
