Teen Mom OG’s Amber Portwood Rants About Quitting Show

Over the many years of Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2, many of the stars have lamented about being on the show and have threatened to quit, and most recently it was Teen Mom OG star Amber Portwood who seemed fed up with the reality TV life.

Ahead of the Monday, November 5 episode, Portwood took to her social media to tweet, “I can’t do this anymore,” followed by another that read, “I have to quit this show.” When a fan replied that many of the stars have “out grown” the show, Portwood opened up further, responding with, “The heartache this show has put me through is too much to bear anymore. If I will not be shown then there’s nothing more to do. My name will not get smeared anymore. I hope everyone is easy with the money they’ve made off of heartache and pain that I’ve endured.”

When another follower responded saying that Portwood needs the show for money, adding, ” U can only do so many “reality star boot camps” after teen mom ends. Get that money while someone still wants to pay u it!” Portwood responded, “No there’s other things that I will do and it will be to help people like I’ve always only wanted to do!”

In the episode which aired after Portwood’s comments on social media, she opened up to her ex-fiance Gary Shirley’s wife Kristina about a miscarriage she had suffered with her ex-fiance Matt Baier. Kristina also opened up about a miscarriage that she had suffered.

Following the birth of her daughter Leah with Gary Shirley, Portwood has had a long road to recovery after a battle with addiction, a stint in rehab, time in jail and a battle with depression and mental health issues. Earlier this year she welcomed her second child, son James with boyfriend Andrew Glennon, which was documented in the early episodes of the season.

Teen Mom OG airs on MTV Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.
