After years of living a low-key life after a long battle with drugs and many run-ins with the law, Teen Mom OG’s Amber Portwood has reportedly been arrested.
According to a report from TMZ Amber was arrested just before six in the morning on Friday, July 5. The reality star was taken into custody on felony domestic battery charges in her native Indiana, and as per protocol authorities are not releasing the name of the victim.
The 29-year-old has been open and honest about her struggles with depression and bipolar and borderline personality disorders and in a recent episode of Teen Mom OG opened up to her therapist while with her current boyfriend Andrew Glennon. Longtime fans of the series clearly remember that back in 2010, Amber was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic battery, one felony count of neglect of a dependent, and one misdemeanor count of domestic battery after she hit her ex-fiance Gary Shirley.
In June of 2011 she pleaded guilty to the two felony domestic battery counts but was arrested later that year for violation of probation and she was found with prescription pills. In May 2012 she was sentenced to prison after she chose to go to prison rather than rehab in an attempt to get clean and straighten out her life after a strong addiction to many pills, and losing custody of her daughter Leah to her ex Gary.
Since 2017, Amber has been dating cinematographer Andrew Glennon, with whom she shares 13-month-old son James.
