If anyone thought that season 22 Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. and his eventual winner Lauren Burnham weren’t going to make, it looks like they were wrong.
Fans will remember that Arie chose Burnham only after he actually selected Becca Kufrin as his winner and proposed to her, leaving Burnham as his runner-up. While Kufrin rebounded from the brutal and dramatic breakup by becoming the Bachelorette, Arie and Burnham began planning their wedding.
On Wednesday, September 5, the 36-year-old race car driver shared an image of the invitations for the upcoming nuptials.
“Sending these out this week! January can’t come soon enough,” he captioned the Instagram of the card, which shows the couple gazing into each other’s eyes with a view of a beautiful meadow in the background. The cards also reveal that the pair’s wedding is only a few short months away on January 12, 2019 and will be held at the Haiku Mill.
Although many expected the couple to strike a deal to have their wedding televised, that isn’t the case. “It’s not your typical beach wedding. And it’s a private wedding, so not on TV — just a close group of friends. Probably 100 guests,” the pair said on The View about their big day.
Many will remember that after Arie called film crews to have them film his breakup with Kufrin, he then pulled off even more dramatics when he proposed to Lauren on the After the Final Rose special.
“I wanted to do this in front of everyone because I want to show you that I should have done this a long time ago. Lauren Elizabeth Burnham, will you marry me?” Luyendyk said on the special before getting down on one knee.
