The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, may not have had a public baby shower for her fans to attend, but that didn’t stop her fans from helping out in any way they could!
A Twitter campaign has recently surfaced conspired by royal fans that has helped raise over £15,000 in just 24 hours for a few of Meghan’s favorite charities. Fans of Markle put together the charity campaign using the hashtag #GlobalSussexBabyShower in support of the upcoming birth of the Royal baby. They asked each other to share donations or other items with charities associated with the Duchess of Sussex to show their support to the growing family.
Charities for the campaign include the Mayhew, an animal welfare charity, which has reported to have been absolutely ‘blown away’ by responses over the weekend with their total of over £4,100. Donations were also given to CAMFED, which works to educate girls in rural Africa and has reported to have received over £8,942. CAMFED called the campaign ‘a great result for girls and young women in Africa.’
It’s heartwarming to see the Duchess of Sussex’s name and upcoming Royal baby being used to help promote kindness and benefit those less fortunate.
