In this week’s episode, viewers saw performances by Banana, Taco, Frog, Kitty, and Mouse. First Banana (“Achy Breaky Heart” by Billy Ray Cyrus), followed by Mouse (“This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole), Frog (“In Da Club” by 50 Cent), Taco (“Boss Nova Baby” by Elvis Presley), and Kitty (“Mercy” by Brett Young).
Unfortunately, the group of six will need to be narrowed down to three; the three moving on will then compete against the three contestants of Group A – White Tiger, Kangaroo, and Turtle – and the three finalists from Group C, who are yet to be announced.
This week the judges and audience least favorite performance was by Mouse, who received the lowest amount of votes. Jeong was surprised by the results, saying, “Not gonna lie, I thought the Taco was gonna go.”
The celebrity behind the Mouse mask was revealed to be legendary singer Dionne Warwick! Some fans and panelists were sure that Warwick was the voice behind the Mouse ever since her first performance on The Masked Singer, and even her clues added up – especially with all the gold and the “walk-on role.” The singer has been awarded many gold records, and she hosted the show Solid Gold in the ’80s, additionally, her most famous song is titled “Walk on By.”
Other eliminated contestants so far include Robot, Llama, Miss Monster, and Elephant.
Next week on The Masked Singer is the Group B finals – Taco, Kitty, Banana and Frog will battle it out to make it to the final three of the group.
The Masked Singer airs every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
