From 18 masked singers to just three, Frog, Night Angel and Turtle made it to the last showdown of the season and battled it out for the Golden Mask on Wednesday, May 20, night’s episode of The Masked Singer.
Frog opened up The Masked Singer season 3 finale with a lively rendition of “Bad Boys for Life” by P. Diddy, Black Rob and Mark Curry. The singer’s final clue package featured a No Limits sign, a crazy wall, and multiple references to his daughter. He also mentioned that the show allowed him “to get back to my first love, which is music.”

“After years of people always having things to say about me on social media, I started to really doubt myself,” Frog added.
Judges Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robic Thicke suggested it was either Bow Wow, Kid Cudi, MC Hammer and Romeo Miller who was the voice behind the Frog’s mask.
Next up was Turtle who took the stage and performed a sentimental cover of Lewis Capaldi’s “Before You Go.” After they showed off an engagement ring as a hint during last week’s episode, the performer referenced a “new Mrs. Turtle” in his clue package and said things in his music career didn’t always turn out like he had hoped.
“I’ve definitely had a lot of ‘almost’ moments,” Turtle revealed. “I almost got this, or almost did that. A lot of things didn’t turn out the way I planned and it was oftentimes heartbreaking.”
Once again, the judges tossed out ideas that it could either be Nick Carter, Nick Jonas or Jesse McCartney underneath the Turtle costume.
Lastly, Night Angel closed out the evening with a big bang! The singer performed a powerful rendition of Tina Turner’s “River Deep, Mountain High.” However, Night Angel didn’t always have the confidence to own the stage the way she did on The Masked Singer‘s season finale.
“For so long I had to convince myself that I wasn’t enough,” Night Angel said in her last clue package, adding, “When I didn’t find success as a solo artist, I decided to develop other businesses behind the scenes of music. I did what I had to do because I’m a mother.”
Thanks to her kids, she was inspired to participate in The Masked Singer.
“I’m here not just for myself, but for all women and for my little angels — to show them it’s never too late to be the person you were meant to be,” she said.
The judges thought Night Angel could be either Kandi Burruss or Taraji P. Henson.
After the judges and studio audience cast off their votes of the season, it was time for Nick Cannon to reveal the results. First, Cannon announced Frog took third place and was unmasked, revealing he was Bow Wow.
“No, not at all, not at all,” the rapper said when asked if he thought he’d make it to the finals. “But there was a lot of strong vocalists here, so I knew I wasn’t going to out-sing or out-ballad anybody. So I said, you know what, I’m gonna come with the swag, I’m gonna add a little bit of this, a little bit of that. I want the people behind me. If I get the people behind me, that’s going to be my little cheat code to get to the top and it worked.”
Cannon then went on to reveal The Masked Singer‘s season 3 winner – Night Angel – meaning Turtle took second place. Turtle removed his masked and it was none other than Jesse McCartney!
“I’m just stunned that I’m even here,” McCartney said after being unmasked. “Hats off to Night Angel, who crushed. This is an experience I’ll never forget.”
As for The Masked Singer‘s season 3 first-place winner, the start behind the Night Angel mask was none other than Kandi Burruss of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Xscape member!
Burruss shrieked when Cannon pointed out that she was the first-ever female winner of The Masked Singer.
“For a long time, I really stopped singing by myself because you get negative feedback and so it kind of messes with your head,” Burruss told the judges after removing her mask. “But thank you. So I had really stopped. And I just really appreciate you guys for helping me build my confidence back.”
