What’s old is new again couldn’t be a more appropriate saying for movies and television shows that are being remade and rebooted from their hay-days of previous decades.

Kids of all ages couldn’t be more excited about the newest reboot coming to TV with ABC ordering a full series of a grown-up revival of The Muppet Show.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, The Muppets will be back in a new, documentary-style show which will look at the Muppets’ personal lives.

That means The Muppets are getting a whole lot more dramatic with romances, break-ups, and we will also see them dealing with their home and work lives in the series that was co-written by Bill Prady and Bob Kushell who also executive produce along with Randall Einhorn and Bill Barretta.

According to the report, the entire series was ordered by the network after the pilot was received with a standing ovation by ABC execs a little while ago.

Along with The Muppets, the network has also ordered six new dramas including a new one from television series master Shonda Rhimes called The Catch as well as a new project starring Joan Allen called The Family.
