The Queen Supports Meghan And Harry’s Decision To Skip Christmas At Sandringham

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex won’t be attending Christmas at Sandringham this year!

Buckingham Palace released a statement on Wednesday sharing Meghan and Harry’s Christmas schedule. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month,” Buckingham Palace shared. “Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, Their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland. This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family, and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen.”

This means Meghan and Harry will not be attending the public walk to church on Christmas morning with Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family. The palace didn’t specify exactly where Meghan and Harry will be during the holidays, but sources have shared that it will not be in Los Angeles where Doria lives.

While Meghan and Harry will obviously be missed, the Queen fully supports their decision. Kate and William have made similar Christmas plans in the past where they’ve spent Christmas with Kate’s family rather than at Sandringham with the Queen.
