On Friday, January 24, This Is Us star Chris Sullivan, and his wife Rachel Sullivan announced that they are expecting their first child together! The pair, who tied the knot in 2010, shared an ultrasound photo on their respective Instagram accounts.
“WE’RE HAVING OUR FIRST BABY! And we just found out the sex. Swipe through for the gender reveal!” the 39-year-old actor, who plays Toby Damon on the hit TV drama, captioned his post alongside multiple phallic symbols.
At the same time, Rachel shared updates on her pregnancy journey so far. “It’s TRUE!!! You heard it from @sullivangrams we are having a BOY!! So excited!!” she wrote.
She added, “Nursery is in the works, names are being workshopped, doulas are being interviewed, naps are my go-to self care bc I’m just so 💤, so much to do and yet so much not to do, just enjoying the moment … life is good! #gratitude #pregnancy #naptime #love.”
Sullivan’s This Is Us castmates shared their congratulations to the expecting couple in the comments section, including Niles Fitch and Parker Bates.
Susan Kelechi Watson, who portrays Beth Pearson, left several blue heart emojis and Eris Baker, who plays as Tess Pearson, commented: “Congratulations!!!! This is sooooo exciting!!”
News of their pregnancy came days after Rachel appeared on Sullivan’s podcast In Love… with Michael Rosenbaum and Chris Sullivan.
During the podcast episode, the parents-to-be discussed opening about their love languages and how they have made their relationship work, even touching on dad jokes.
