Tim Allen Reprises Home Improvement Role For Crossover Episode On Last Man Standing

Tim Allen will be reprising his role on Home Improvement for a crossover episode on Last Man Standing.

The crossover episode will be titled “Dual Time” and will be airing on Fox on January 7th. Allen will play both Tim Taylor from Home Improvement and Mike Baxter in Last Man Standing.

The worlds collide when Mike’s wife Vanessa hires a home improvement repairman who looks remarkably similar to Mike. Fox released a trailer for the season which teased the episode and the interaction between the two dads.

“They call me the tool man,” Tim Taylor says to which Mike Baxter quips that he’s “a little annoying.”

Home Improvement first premiered in 1991 and ran for eight seasons on ABC. Aside from Allen, the popular sitcom starred Richard Karn, Patricia Richardson, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, and Zachery Ty Bryan.

Last Man Standing, on the other hand, is set to air its ninth and final season in January on Fox. Allen opened up about the final season this past October and shared that season 9 would be both “memorable and hilarious.”

“I’ve been one lucky dude to have been part of Last Man Standing,” he shared. “I so appreciate the incredible support from our fans over this near decade of work. As we approach the ninth season, I just admire and feel grateful for all the hard work our wonderful cast and crew have done.”

“We had all considered to end the show after last season, but together with Fox, we decided to add a year so we could produce a full season to create the gentle and fun goodbye,” he added. “I’m looking forward to a memorable and hilarious final season.”
