Tom Bergeron did not hold back on giving his insight about the latest departure of an executive producer from his former TV show, Dancing with the Stars.
News broke on Thursday that executive producer Andrew Llinares would be leaving the dancing competition series after five seasons. Bergeron took to Twitter to share his reaction following the news.
One fan shared a tweet about Llinares’ exit and tagged Bergeron asking for his thoughts. In response, Bergeron replied, “”Karma’s a b—,” with a playful wink emoji.
Bergeron exited Dancing with the Stars in 2020 when he and co-star Erin Andrews were replaced by Tyra Banks ahead of season 19. ABC explained the reason for the departure was because the show was headed in a “new creative direction.”
At the time, Llinares opened up about the shift in direction during ABC’s fall press day in September 2020. “Any show like this that has been on for many, many seasons needs to continue to evolve,” Llinares explained, per Entertainment Tonight. “So I think changing that host is all about evolution.”
He added, “It was all about making the show feel fresh, making it feel new and make it reach out to a new audience — as well as the audience that’s been there for years.”
Bergeron had hosted Dancing with the Stars since its premiere in 2005.
