Tracy Morgan Returning To Saturday Night Live As Host In New Season

Comedian Tracy Morgan has been working hard to rehabilitate both physically and emotionally since a devastating accident left him with serious injuries and also resulted in the death of his friend and fellow comedian, Jimmy Mack.

After making his first public television appearance only a few months ago, it has now been confirmed that Morgan will be heading back to Saturday Night Live in his first gig since the accident. Morgan was a cast member on SNL from 1996 t0 2003 and hosted in 2009, but was unable to attend SNL’s 40th Anniversary Special because he was still in recovery.

After the announcement that he will be hosting one of the new season’s first three episodes, Morgan took to his Twitter to write, “Stoked to be going home… #SNL.”

Along with the news that Morgan will be hosting, it was also confirmed that Miley Cyrus and Amy Schumer will be the other two of the first three hosts. This will be the first hosting appearance for comedienne and Trainwreck star Schumer, while Cyrus has hosted twice.

Saturday Night Live’s Twitter account also confirmed that Cyrus will be the first host on October 3; Schumer will host on October 10; and Morgan will host on October 17.
