Reality star and former Olympian Bruce Jenner, 65, has made a lot of headlines lately but on Saturday February 7, it was for something very different than the recent stories after he was involved in a three car accident in which left a 70-year-old woman dead.
Jenner was initially very shaken up and was adamant that he had not been drinking and as the investigation continues, Jenner has spoken out about the horrific crash in Malibu, “My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”
Inital reports indicated that Jenner caused the accident after his Cadillac Escalade rear-ended a Lexus sending the vehicle into traffic where it was stuck by a Hummer, killing the female driver with claims that Jenner had been texting at the time of the collision, but he swears he was not.
TMZ is now reporting however that it may have been the Prius at the front of the line of cars that caused the accident with indications that it made a sudden stop causing a chain reaction in which the Lexus hit the Prius before Bruce crashed into it.
While it was the jolt from Bruce’s vehicle that caused the Lexus to move into traffic, the driver of the Prius may be at least partially responsible if it is determined it came to a sudden stop without warning, with the police now thinking the Prius driver was attempting an illegal U-turn.
