Dancing With the Stars fans are getting double the fun this coming fall!
Days after ABC announced that the hit dancing competition series would be returning for a full season on Monday, September 24, 2018, more details about the new spinoff series Dancing With the Stars: Juniors have been released!
After a shortened version of the show took place for season 26 with Dancing With the Stars: Athletes, producers realized fans wanted something different, but didn’t want their beloved show completely replaced. So, this fall they will see not only the original series airing with season 27 but Sunday nights will have the Dancing With the Stars spinoff, Dancing With the Stars: Juniors — and three familiar faces will be judging.
On Monday, July 30, it was revealed on Good Morning America that Dancing With the Stars: Athletes winner Adam Rippon along with beloved Dancing With the Stars pro Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Emmy Awards winning choreographer Mandy Moore (not the actress) will be at the judges table for the Juniors version of the popular show.
Chermovskiy, who is one of the longest-running pros on the show and is a two-time Mirror Ball champion took to his Instagram to share his excitement. “YOUR JUDGES* OF DANCING WITH THE STARS: JUNIORS *(the middle 3),” he wrote alongside a photo of himself, Rippon and Moore on Good Morning America. “Very excited to be part of this awesome new dance show on @abcnetwork It’s going to be the BIGGEST show of Lil’ Superstars on television and I’m proud to help guide and celebrate the future of not just dance but the future influencers and leaders of our world,” he added.
Dancing With the Stars: Juniors will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 7 on ABC. Season 27 of the original Dancing With the Stars will return on Monday, Sept. 24.
