Val Chmerkovskiy Responds To Kanye West’s ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Diss

Published on October 28, 2019.

It seems like Kanye West has a few particular thoughts about Dancing With the Stars, but longtime pro Val Chmerkovskiy was quick to remind that rapper that a couple of his family members have actually competed on the show.

On Friday, October 25, West released his newest album Jesus Is King and on the track “Oh God” he seemed to include a lyric dissing Dancing With the Stars, rapping about how he would prefer to charge higher prices for the products he puts out then to appear on competition shows. “That’s why I charge the prices that I charge/ I can’t be out here dancin’ with the stars,” he raps on the song.

After hearing the song, DWTS pro Val Chmerkovskiy, took to social media to share his response to the apparent diss. The dancer shared a video of himself listening to the song with a confused look on his face and then took the opportunity to point out to West that his wife, Kim Kardashian West, and her brother have both competed on the show.

“Yo kanye keep talking that smack about dancing with the stars,” he said at the end of the photo, seemingly indicating that he might have to respond with a song of his own. “You gonna catch this diss track. With some rhinestones on.”

Back in 2008, Kim Kardashian competed on season seven of the show with pro Mark Ballas where the pair were only the third couple to be eliminated. Meanwhile in 2011, Rob Kardashian also competed on the show and with his partner Cheryl Burke he landed in second place.
