The Fast & The Furious. What an unexpectedly profitable franchise this became. Into its 14th year gracing the silver screen, the seventh installment features the final screen appearance of the late Paul Walker.
Producers teased the trailer for seven days, pushing toward its release. It is precisely what you’d expect it to be. An adrenalin rushing, sex drenched, motor-head fueled trailer about bad guys and girls who do good things to combat badder guys.
The trailer–if nothing else–does one thing really well. Fans can rest assured that there will be a considerable amount of Paul Walker in the movie mix. Had Paul not passed away, this thing would have been released months ago–that’s how much of the filming he had completed at the time of his death.
As it stands, there are still several months left before this sucker hits theaters. They’ve gotta get through Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day… then, just before tax season in the good ole USofA, it’ll be time for The Fast and The Furious 7, or “Furious 7” if you’re into the brand jargon.
It’s easily presumed there will be multiple trailers released in the upcoming months. Probably another 2-3? 3-4?
Now. About Paul. He does look stellar in the mix. It’ll be really interesting to see how things work for his character, and how much of his scene work they shot before his passing. They used his brother for scenes following his death, which suggests they’ll composite Paul’s face onto his brother’s body for action sequences, and larger group scenes… but who knows how we’ll see Brian O’Connor exit the story line? That’s something that has remained well guarded.
If you haven’t already (or want to again), check out the trailer for Furious 7.
