Hollywood megastar Brad Pitt is taking a break from appearing on the big screen, choosing instead to work behind the scenes and help produce the film adaptation of David Grann’s best-selling book “The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon.”

Have no fear though, there is another strikingly handsome blonde actor ready to take the lead role, as many outlets have confirmed that Charlie Hunnam, 33, will be portraying British colonial Percy Fawcett.

The film follows Fawcett who went missing in the 1920s while searching for a mythical city in the Amazon jungles of Brazil.

Hunnam joins already confirmed cast members Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller and has apparently earned the lead despite early reports that Benedict Cumberbatch was being lined up for the role.

Hunnam shot to fame with the hit FX series Sons of Anarchy portraying gang leader Jax Teller, and as the final season approached Hunnam was then offered the role of Christian Grey in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey but made headlines when he backed out a while later.

Even without that film, the British hunk has been very busy. In addition to his Lost City of Z role, he is currently in production as King Arthur for a new Warner Bros. film franchise, Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur.

He will next be seen in the Guillermo del Toro directed flick Crimson Peak which is set for release this October.
