The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has had to change many aspects of her life when transitioning from celebrity-to-royalty — her wardrobe included! Markle’s pre-Royal style was always quite effortless and sophisticated, but with a hint of edge. Her days on Suits were filled with body-hugging pencil skirts, while her time on the red carpet was filled with many flirty cocktail dresses.
Meghan’s style has obviously undergone a huge shift since becoming Prince Harry’s wife. So far during her royal reign, we’ve seen her wear a variety of modest dresses and professional-looking attire, but recently, she stepped out wearing a look she used to favor pre-Royalty — leather! While we’re not entirely sure how the Queen feels about the edgy texture, we have to admit that it looks great on Meghan, whether she’s a Duchess or not. Leather has a luxe, sultry feel to it and elevates any outfit. For this engagement, she shocked everyone when she stepped out wearing an olive-colored leather skirt with a button-up blouse in a similar hue. Regardless of the Queen’s opinion, we love that Markle hasn’t totally abandoned her past style in her new Royal role! Check out her full look:
