Zayn Malik Is Taking Stress Leave From One Direction Tour

One Direction is in the middle of their “On The Road Again” tour but they will have to continue minus one important member as it has been confirmed that Zayn Malik is going on hiatus from the band’s tour due to stress.

“Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate. The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta,” a rep for the band said in a statement.

While it seems he is expected to return when the band performs in Johannesburg, South Africa on March 28, beginning the next stretch of their tour, initial reports indicated that the 22-year old had quit the band for good.

“Zayn finds it harder than the rest of his band-mates dealing with the fame. Having his every movement scrutinized causes great anxiety and the pictures which surfaced with the fan yesterday was the final straw,” a source told U.K.’s The Sun about a photo that caused rumors to swirl that Malik was cheating on his fiancée.

Malik took to his Twitter on March 18 to deny the rumors, “I’m 22 years old… I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there’s lots of jealous f–ks in this world I’m sorry for what it looks like x.”

After denying those rumors, reports surfaced that Malik and one other bandmate Louis Tomlinson were required to post weed bonds before performing in the Philippines, and only hours later it was reported he was going on stress leave from the tour.
