It was a hot summer in Genoa City! As the temperatures get cooler, it seems like the drama will continue to heat up in the land of Young and the Restless (Y&R). What will the fallout be for both Mariah and Abby after Copeland and Baby Bowie are saved? Is there trouble looming for Billy and Lily? Will sparks fly between Adam and Sally? Fans love speculating on storylines! As such, below are some Y&R plotline predictions for September 2021.

12. Everyone’s Safe and Sound

While there’s a good chance Baby Bowie and Mariah will return safe and sound, the ordeal will have taken its toll on both Copeland and Abby. Y&R spoilers hint that Mariah will be haunted by the past. Could some bad memories from her childhood re-surface? Maybe something that happened while she was in the New World cult?

11. Mariah’s Haunted By The Experience

After the horror that Copeland just endured, she might simply be rattled by the traumatic experience. She was fed and “somewhat” taken care of, but being locked up in the same room without even a change of clothes is scary enough! Imagine going into labor all by yourself and not knowing who has kept you hostage?

10. The Bowie Factor

Mariah might also suffer from postpartum depression. After all, she’s not a “mom”, but she’s a “mom”! Mix that in with the fact that she was kidnapped, and Copeland is sure to struggle during September. So much change, in such a little time frame. One moment she was kidnapped and expecting, the next she’s baby-less and okay — that’s a lot of emotions for a woman to deal with. Will this affect her relationship with Tessa? Porter will have to be very patient with Mariah over the next little bit. She’s been through so much.

9. Abby’s Resentment Grows

Abby has been incredibly patient with Chance during this time. He’s been away for a very long time and has missed some major baby milestones. Mrs. Newman-Abbott-Chancellor has carried the entire surrogacy journey on her shoulders — and all by herself. But to have their baby go missing, and Chance not come out of the woodwork, would make any wife upset. Will Abby start to resent her hubby and this “important” mission he’s on? She could’ve used his “detective” skills as of late!

8. Abby Sees Devon In Bowie

Chance is “who knows where” at this point. Plus, Devon and Abby are growing closer. Devon was the one who was suspicious of Stitch and technically “saved the day”. They didn’t “make” Baby Bowie together; however, the child is woven from Hamilton. Every time Abby feeds the baby, cleans his diaper, or snuggles him, she may see Devon. The child may even resemble his sperm donor to a “T”. Could these two catch feelings? Will Devon want to play a more active role in this child’s life once he sees him? Especially in lieu of Chance not being around? Should Amanda be worried?

7. Amanda Starts To Notice

Amanda isn’t a naturally jealous woman. After all, she’s got the smarts and confidence to be secure in herself, and her relationship. With that said, she may start to notice the unspoken bond developing between Devon and Abby especially in Chance’s absence. Nothing will happen between Hamilton and Abby in September, but the hints that something “could” happen will be dropped.

6. Trouble For Bi-Li?

Across town, Billy and Lily have been on a roll as of late; however, there are some lingering hints that these two could be headed for a breakup. Especially with Billy’s investigation into Ashland Locke and his disapproval over his ex-wife marrying the guy. Will Abbott cross a line to get the goods on the Locke-Ness? Will this rub Lily the wrong way?

5. Adam and Sally

Adam and Sally are sure to dive into a romance, or romp, come September. Heads will turn, as both Adam and Sally continue to get warnings from others, but they’ll push forward with it all anyways. While Adam has a “thing” for Sharon (and always will), this fling with Sally will be refreshing and fun, albeit much to the disapproval of dear old dad.

4. Victor Does Not Approve

After everything that happened with Summer, and Sally’s role in it all, Victor will feel as though Adam is going against the Newman Family with this relationship. Nick will also disapprove. Adam, Victor and Nick have made tremendous strides, and there’s a good chance that Spectra will ruin all the progress they have made.

3. Phyllis and Jack?

Phyllis is crazy about Nick, that much is clear. She always has been, and probably always will be. Nick is it for her. However, it’s hard not to see that Red still has feelings for Jack. Would Phyllis jeopardize her relationship with Nick for Jack? Probably not, but Sally will work overtime to make it seem like that.

2. It’s A Sabotage!

Could Sally goes so far as to slip something in Jack and Phyllis’s drinks during a get-together? They won’t cross a line, but the scheme will make them think they did! She could also videotape them kissing, or canoodling? Red has seemingly got the better of Spectra lately, and there’s no way Sally’s going to let that slide!

1. Chelsea Returns!

Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson) just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in real life. While she’ll need some weeks to recover, could Lawson re-enter the land of Genoa City sometime next month? Chelsea did some video calls, here and there, right before she went on maternity leave. She could re-enter the canvas at some point near the end of September or early October. Fall sounds like a good time for her to take the little town by storm!
