Former Real Housewives Of Atlanta: Where Are They Now?

Published on November 23, 2016. Updated October 2, 2019

Bravo’s reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta is only one branch of their ever-popular Real Housewives franchise, but it’s definitely one of the most successful. RHOA was the second show in the Real Housewives franchise to be developed back in 2008, not long before The Real Housewives of New York City. Season 9 is currently on air and features only a few ladies who’ve been around since the beginning. Similar to most of the other Real Housewives shows, RHOA has a lot of former Housewives who either disappeared from reality television all together, or moved onto new opporutnies. Here’s a list of 7 former Real Housewives of Atlanta — find out what they are up to now!

7. Kim Fields

This Housewife was hired on to replace Sheree Whitfield in season 8, but she only lasted one season and Whitfield managed to snag her coveted spot back for season 9. Kim Fields was a good addition to the cast, but she clashed with fellow Housewife, Kenya Moore.  Fields is well known as an actress for her roles on NBC sitcom The Facts of Life as Dorothy and Regina on the Fox sitcom, Living Single. Not even a year after announcing she was joining the cast of RHOA, it was announced that Fields wouldn’t be returning. “It was for the experience. It was to be able to do a genre that I’d been asked to do before and finding a way to do it that made sense for my team and for the family. Overall it was a really great experience,” said Fields when asked about her departure. Instead of continuing on with Bravo, she joined the cast of Dancing with the Stars for season 22 and was partnered with dancing pro, Sasha Farber. Fields and Farber landed in eighth place after being cut in a double elimination.

6. Sheree Whitfield

Even though Whitfield is currently apart of the  cast once again, she took a three season hiatus from 2012 until 2015 when she returned as a “friend” in season 8. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta was supposed to return as a main cast member in season 8, but producers chose Kim Fields over her, which is why she was demoted. During her three year hiatus, she was awarded $75,000 from her ex-husband Bob Whitfield for missed child support payments. In 2013 she appeared on Iyanla: Fix My Life which showcased the failure of her clothing line She by Sheree and the lack of completion of her McMansion, Cheateau Sheree. On a brighter note, she was able to launch her jewelry line called She by Sheree in 2015, but then was busy settling a tax lien that was filed against her in 2013 totalling over $150,000. The infamous “Who Gonna Check Me Boo?” reality star is back and currently one of the main cast members of RHOA for season 9 which is on air right now.

5. Claudia Jordan

Claudia Jordan is another Housewife who only lasted for one season. She was introduced onto the show as one of Kenya Moore’s close friends, but only appeared as a main cast member in season 7 and then was demoted to the role of a guest in season 8. The former television and radio host didn’t get along with long-time Housewife, NeNe Leakes, and Jordan wasn’t afraid to stand up to her! Not long after she announced she wouldn’t be returning to RHOA, she also announced she was leaving her radio gig on The Rickey Smiley Show. There were rumors that she and her co-host, Rickey Smiley, didn’t get along and that their working relationship had deteriorated. There were also rumors that she was dating Shawn Bullard from Match Made in Heaven, but she has never publicly spoken about it. On top of all this, she got into a bad car accident in June 2015 involving a six-car pile up. Thankfully, she got out unscathed. Despite not coming back to the show, she’s still quite close with some of her former cast mates.

4. Kim Zolciak-Biermann

This wig-wearing former Housewife is no longer on The Real Housewives of Altana, but viewers don’t have to look far to find out where she went! Zolciak-Biermann was offered her own spin-off series featuring her new family with former NFL player, Kroy Biermann, called Don’t Be Tardy. The couple got married in 2012 and their relationship tamed Zolciak-Biermann quite a bit. Since leaving the RHOA in the middle of season 5, she welcomed two more children with Kroy, twins Kane and Kaia. She now has a total of six children, four with Kroy and two from previous relationships. She’s also undergone several plastic surgeries which she’s been quite open about. In 2016 she launched a line of skin-care products called Kashmere and began working on a perfume of the same name. Don’t Be Tardy is currently airing its fifth season.

3. DeShawn Snow

DeShawn Snow was a one season wonder on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She didn’t bring enough drama to the show, so she was given the boot. She said one of the producers told her she was “too human for a circus show.” But when she left the show her life suddenly started getting much more dramatic! In 2010 she divorced her husband of 12 years, NBA player Eric Snow. “I’m thankful the cameras weren’t there!…I’m definitely moving forward, I’m growing through this. Since I’ve been on the show, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting, a lot of writing, a lot of healing,”she said in an interview with AttaGirl in 2012. Getting kicked off the show did her well because she’s also lost 30 pounds and the mother of three is now credited as a published author of the children’s book series, Lil Shawnee. Snow is quite active on Instagram where she often posts inspirational messages for her followers.

2. Lisa Wu-Hartwell

Lisa Wu-Hartwell was a main cast member on The Real Housewives of Atlanta for two seasons and then returned as a guest for seasons 3 and 9. She spent her time on the show talking about her many businesses from real estate to jewelry and baby clothing lines, but things went south after she made her exit in 2009. It was later revealed that her husband Ed Hartwell had borrowed $2.9 million to purchase their home which ended up in foreclosure. The reality couple got divorced in 2011 and her various businesses are no longer active. She made a few small returns on Bravo in the role of a guest and on the televised special of NeNe Leakes wedding. She’s also been pursuing a career in acting, but has only landed two roles so far, one on Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns and a small gig in the film The Internship starring Vince Vaughn.

1. NeNe Leakes

This outspoken and drama driven Housewife reigned over The Real Housewives of Atlanta for seven whole seasons. She returned as a guest for season 8, but will not return for season 9. Leakes had been threatening to leave the show for quite some time, but never actually followed through with it until now. She told People magazine that she asked to come back as a guest because she didn’t want to be a main cast member, but couldn’t work out a deal with producers. She also implied that producers then took the same deal to former Housewife, Kim Zoliack-Biermann, and supposedly they were able to reach a deal with her instead. But only time will tell! One thing is for sure, Leakes is taking a break from RHOA and she’s doing just fine without her Housewife status. She currently serves as a co-host on the show Fashion Police and is a series regular panelist on To Tell the Truth.
