As it turns out, when he was still young, Washington was at his mother’s beauty parlor when a woman, who was there getting her hair done and was known in the community as a prophetess, saw him and instantly wrote a prophecy about him. Denzel Washington has never been the type of person or actor to not speak his mind, and he did not hold back when working with director Quentin Tarantino on the set of Crimson Tide in the early ’90s. The two men got into a fight on set when Washington, who starred in the film, confronted the director after Tarantino had done rewrites that included many racial slurs. As the actor blew up at Tarantino, the director reportedly wanted to move the discussion to somewhere private, but Washington felt it was something everyone needed to hear. Despite the tension, years later Washington revealed he and Tarantino had made amends. “I buried the hatchet. I sought him out ten years ago. I told him ‘Look I apologize.’ You’ve just gotta let that go. You gonna walk around with that the rest of your life? He seemed relieved.” He added that his own daughter Katia was working with Tarantino on Django Unchained, stating, “Here we are ten years later, and my daughter is working with Quentin. Life is something.”
