Celebrity Couples Who Were Engaged And Married Within A Year And Stayed Together

Published on August 15, 2019. Updated April 28, 2021

Whirlwind relationships are nothing new in Hollywood as it seems celebrities are hooking up and breaking up before anyone can really keep track. Although it seems like stars move particularly fast when it comes to romantic relationships, it hasn’t all led to breakups or divorce. Short engagements have become quite common as many celebrities try to keep their big day under wraps and many are engaged and married in under a year! Here are some celebrity couples who had lightning fast engagements but have stayed together:

16. Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger

Following Chris Pratt’s surprising split from Anna Faris in 2017 he took some time before jumping back into the dating pool, but when he did things moved quickly! In June 2018 Pratt was introduced to Katherine Schwarzenegger, the daughter of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, through Shriver and the pair hit things off. Although they kept things quiet, their relationship became serious and after only six months together the pair announced their engagement in early January 2019. After only five months of being engaged, the duo wed on June 8, 2019 in Montecito, California meaning they met, became engaged and were married all in one year!

Country singer Miranda Lambert was more low-key with her romances ever since her split from fellow country star Blake Shelton, which made her relationship with Brendan McLoughlin even more surprising for fans of the singer. Before anyone knew they were dating, Lambert announced on Valentine’s Day of 2019 that she and McLoughlin had secretly married! The two met in early November 2018 when McLoughlin, a NYPD officer, was working security for an event involving Lambert and her band the Pistol Annies. They were married on January 26, 2019 and while there is no confirmation on when or how the engagement happened, we do know they met, got engaged, and were married within three months.
