Hollywood’s 10 Most Romantic Love Stories

Published on March 30, 2016.

Hollywood is a place where romance lights up the big screen, but many A-listers seem to bounce from one failed marriage to the next. This list takes a look at the 10 most endearing and enduring relationships that have spun amongst A-list celebrities.

10. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Fans around the world were devastated when the marriage of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston dissolved very publically as things lit up between Pitt and his Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star, Angelina Jolie. And while it took some time for the wounds to heal, it quickly became clear that the Brangelina relationship was one for the ages. “Because of the film, we ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things, and I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened,” Angelina said of working together back in 2005. “I think a few months in I realized, ‘God, I can’t wait to get to work.'” And get to work the couple did. They now have an incredible blended family of 6 children and have even established the Maddox Jolie-Pitt foundation together to assist with humanitarian crisis around the world.

9. Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn

This couple has a long history together! They first met back in 1968 while filming The One and Only, Genuine, and Original Family Band, but did not start dating until they reconnected on the set of Swing Shift. The pair have been together since 1983 and have one son together. They also have children from previous relationships, including actress Kate Hudson, that are a part of their big happy family.

8. David and Victoria Beckham

These two are a powerhouse couple made up of epic beauty and talent. When these two are together they alight the red carpet with their magnetic charisma. “My wife picked me out of a soccer sticker book… and I chose her off the telly,” said the retired soccer superstar. “It felt straight away like we’d always been meant to be together.” The pair married in an intimate ceremony in an Irish castle back in 1999, and now have 4 children together. And while David is no longer hitting the soccer pitch, Victoria has taken on the role of bread-winner as she currently has a substantial celebrity following for her eponymous fashion line! The two will only continue to wow their audience!

7. Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones

This couple shocked fans when they got together after the Deauville Film Festival in France due to the fact that Douglass is 25 years older than Zeta-Jones, but the seemingly mismatched pair hit it off immediately! According to Catherine, when Danny DeVito introduced her to Michael, Douglas plainly stated, “I’d like to father your children.” Well, he got his wish and then some! The couple married in 2000 and now have 2 children together. They briefly split in 2013, but reconciled after a few months apart. Zeta-Jones suffers from bi-polar disorder and many tabloids have speculated that this was the reason for their temporary break.

6. Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz

This Spanish duo were originally introduced back in 1992 on the set of Jamon, Jamon, but they didn’t start dating until they worked together on Woody Allen’s Vicky Christina Barcelona in 2007. They are fiercely private about their personal lives, but the couple married in 2010 in a private ceremony at a friend’s house in the Bahamas. They have 2 children together and live in Madrid, Spain, where they have raised some eyebrows for their political views and support for gay marriage. Cruz also works as a public advocate for breast feeding.

These two met while Jada was auditioning for the role of Will Smith’s girlfriend on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and while she didn’t score the role on the show, she landed it in real life. The couple married 2 years later in 1997 and have been a Hollywood powerhouse ever since. They have two children, Jaden, who acts and raps, and Willow, who is a professional singer and actor. They began dating in 2003 and the Royal Wedding took place for all of their subjects to see in 2011. When asked how they have managed to maintain their relationship in Hollywood land, Parker responded to the Huffington Post by stating, “The secret is, we don’t discuss it. To reporters or anybody else. That’s it! We don’t hold it up as an example and we don’t air our dirty laundry.” Meow…

1. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi

While the tabloids have been circulating scandalous rumors recently about these two, their relationship seems to be going strong. The two began dating back in 2004 and married in 2008 after the overturn of the same-sex marriage ban in California. When asked in January 2016 of the secret to their lasting love, Portia gushed,” We’re just really good friends and we talk about everything, and we never ever, ever lie to each other, like, not even the tiniest lies. And she’s the only person I want to hang out with. Like, she is my best friend and I just want to be with her all the time.” Aww!
