10. Here’s To Three Years!
Brytni Sarpy took to Instagram to mark her third anniversary as Dr. Dawson on Y&R. “It’s Elena’s third anniversary and boy has time flown by,” Sarpy wrote in the caption. “Thank you to all the wonderful humans on stage 41 and 43 that make it all worth it…” Fittingly, she shared a montage of behind-the-scenes footage taken from those very stages. Here’s to many more years in Genoa City, Brytni!

9. Michelle’s Guessing Game
After the latest Y&R teaser promised an explosive character return, Michelle Stafford took to Twitter and asked fans to weigh in on the mystery person. “Guesses?” she tweeted. “I will only respond if you are correct! Go!” Fans have done their best sleuthing and offered up a lot of interesting names, from those thought to be deceased (Diane, Kelly) to those who are just crazy enough to return (Mari Jo, Patty). The spoiler photo is here, but after nearly 600 replies, Stafford has yet to confirm or deny.

8. Courtney Hope On That Infamous Love Scene
Ask the average Y&R fan how they’d describe Sally and Adam’s first romp in the office, and most would say “sexy”, “hot” or… “technical”? Well, at least that’s how Courtney Hope (Sally) described it in the new issue of Soap Opera Digest. “You have to lay this way, now turn your body this way but make your head go that way,” Hope described the choreography, insisting that it takes a lot of focus and hard work to make it look passionate. Clearly, she and Mark Grossman are consummate professionals!

7. New Character, Familiar Face
Soaps veteran Julia Montgomery, who rose to fame as Samantha Vernon on One Life to Live, will guest-star on Y&R this Wednesday, March 23rd. According to Soap Opera Digest (as per Soaps.com), she will be portraying Tanya, the real estate agent — which is, oddly enough, a profession Montgomery has in real life! “The director allowed me to change around a few words to make it more realistic,” Montgomery told the magazine. “I felt like I had free rein, which was fun.”

No, the Y&R star isn’t turning 25… she’s been performing on the CBS soap for a quarter century already! From playing Cassie Newman until 2005, then guest-starring as Cassie’s ghost, on and off, to returning as Mariah Copeland in 2014, Camryn Grimes has become an irreplaceable presence in Genoa City. To celebrate the big occasion, Y&R threw the actress a party which was attended by most of the cast. Cait Fairbanks (Tessa) and Joshua Morrow (Nick) gave speeches to honor their cast-mate. Grimes also gave thanks to her supporters on Instagram.

5. Doug Davidson Low-Key Vents Online
One person who was not in attendance at Grimes’ celebration was Doug Davidson. Month after month, Y&R fans still wonder why Davidson has been cut off from the soap. Viewers have had their say on the matter, and Davidson has occasionally voiced his displeasure as well. As Y&R celebrated actress Grimes’ 25th anniversary with the soap, a disgruntled fan opined, “Unlike Doug Davidson who made the show what it is”. Davidson then retweeted the shady retort twice; once on its own and a second time with prayer hand emojis. Would somebody at Y&R just give this guy a yes or no?

3. Irizarry’s Drug Daze
Y&R alum Vincent Irizarry sat down with Maurice Benard for the General Hospital star’s State Of Mind Youtube show and discussed how self-destructive he was in his formative years. (This episode was taped in advance of his recent emergency surgery, from which he’s currently recovering).
“I’ve always had a wanderlust – a lust for life, a desire to acquire life experiences, to have a life fully lived,” Irizarry explained. “Which is a good thing, but it can lead to destructive decisions.” The actor goes on to tell a story about missing an incredible acting job because he’d been up late drinking and doing drugs the night before.
“It was an epiphany,” the star said. “I literally had this eye-opening moment right then, and I literally stopped everything. I stopped drugs.” Looking at Irizarry’s accomplishments, there’s no denying that he made the right choice!

2. BFFs With The Bruises To Show For It
If there’s one friendship that seems to thrive during good times and bad, it’s the bond between Chelsea and Chloe. And in an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) and Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe) share their favorite scenes together over the years.
As much as she loves the “funny moments” between them, Egan went for a pivotal scene: “When Chelsea found out that Chloe killed Adam. It was just before Chloe was about to marry Kevin.” Hendrickson then revealed the scene that left its mark on her – literally. “I don’t remember the context of the fight, but it was when they were really going at each other,” Hendrickson explained. “Missy [Egan] really grabbed me and I had bruises on my arms because we really went for it. Side note: Missy didn’t hurt me, it’s just I bruise very easily.”

1. Michael Mealor Watch Continues…
Michael Mealor’s recent appearance on Y&R, via video chat with on-screen dad, Peter Bergman, suggests that the actor is not only still on good terms with the show, but is likely to return. And with the recasting of Summer Newman in full swing, it sounds like Kyle Abbott will move his family back to Genoa City later this spring at the earliest.
