18. Emma Stone

We’ve witnessed Emma Stone go through quite a few transitions in her style during her time in the spotlight. She’s attempted a variety of hair colors and many will be shocked to know that blonde is actually her natural hair color! She was advised by a stylist to dye her hair an edgier color to make her stand out, which resulted in the phases of brunette and red that we remember. Red is definitely a tricky color to pull off but Stone makes it work flawlessly and this color has definitely become a look we have coined her signature.

17. Kerry Washington

When playing someone as put together and polished as Olivia Pope on Scandal, Kerry Washington definitely has some high fashion expectations to live up to when she hits the red carpet. Surprisingly, Kerry Washington wasn’t always the stylish fashionista we know her as today! Like many stars, Washington struggled in the earlier days of her career and often stepped out in looks that clashed and were quite questionable. Fortunately thanks to the help of her stylist, she’s stepped up her game and is now one of the best-dressed women in Hollywood most known for her sleek and sophisticated style.

16. Emma Watson

Emma Watson stepped onto the Hollywood scene at quite an early age, which means she inevitably had a few fashion mishaps! Before she had a stylist Watson had no shame to appear at awards shows wearing jeans and a t-shirt or casual faded leather jackets. Luckily, the Emma Watson we know today is one of the most elegant Hollywood starlets, and she most likely has her stylist to thank for that! Her style is quite minimalist and simple, but she always looks completely dazzling.

15. Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence has branded herself as the relatable girl-next-door in every sense of the term! She doesn’t cultivate the privileged entitlement that many stars do and her early looks on the red carpet definitely showed this. Luckily the years have done benefitted Jennifer Lawrence’s style significantly and although she is still relatable and down to earth, her style reflects true Hollywood glamour and class! Lawrence has gone through multiple stylists, her first being Rachel Zoe who dressed her in quite girly looks, but has transitioned to a new stylist who adopted an edgy, sexy look for Lawrence.

14. Adele

Adele has always been naturally stunning, but during her early days in the spotlight, she seemed to lack the glamour factor that many stars exude with their style. Luckily, Adele hired a top-notch stylist who transformed her look into one that reflects the superstar she is! Adele adopted an old Hollywood style that we’ve come to recognize as her signature which is complete with vintage-style waves, a pop of red on her lips and a glittering little black dress.

13. Nicole Richie

Many people wouldn’t even recognize Nicole Richie from the photos of her back in the 2000s when she starred alongside Paris Hilton in The Simple Life! Her style has transitioned from sloppy boho chic to uber elegant and sophisticated, which is likely thanks to her stylist! In 2004 Richie finally hired uber Hollywood stylist Rachel Zoe and the results were absolutely fabulous.

12. Sandra Bullock

For many years, Sandra Bullock did not seem comfortable on the red carpet. She didn’t dress appropriately and seemed awkward and not in her element despite how naturally gorgeous she is! When we see Bullock on the red carpet now, however, she always looks fantastic, which is likely thanks to a new stylist. She’s much more confident these days and whether she’s sporting a sassy sixties look or going for something more demure, she’s definitely having a lot of fun with her newfound sex appeal.

11. Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson has always had a rocking body; however, she hasn’t always known how to dress it. Earlier on in her career, this was especially obvious when she showed up at events wearing dresses that were a little too short, showed a little too much cleavage or rocked really heavy makeup. With the help of a stylist, however, Johansson has totally managed to revamp her look. She always arrives on the red carpet with the right amount of makeup and an outfit that shows off her amazing curves and looks uber chic.

10. Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon was still quite young when she first started out in Hollywood and often opted for a lot of unremarkable-looking frocks. As she became more famous, her style did change, but not necessarily for the better. During the days of Legally Blonde, she wore way too much pink and dressed a little too girly. It really took until her breakup with Ryan Phillippe for her to reevaluate her wardrobe and finally decide that her style needed to change. Nowadays, Witherspoon almost always looks remarkable on the red carpet and is quite the risk taker. With her shape, many different styles work and she takes advantage of this.

9. Angelina Jolie

When Angelina Jolie first came onto the Hollywood scene, she put absolutely no effort into her appearance. Despite having one of the hottest bodies in town, she always seemed to underdress and even when she did put on a gown, it was often questionable. She seemed destined for great things professionally; however, fashion-wise, she was always one of the worst dressed. Ever since she began dating Brad Pitt, however, she seemed to start putting more effort into how she looks. Her style is glamorous, and classy and despite their split, she still seems to foster this sense of style in her recent public appearances.

8. Carrie Underwood

On American Idol in 2005, Carrie Underwood was definitely an underdog when it came to fashion despite being crowned the winner. As her career in the spotlight flourished, she slowly began to put more effort into her appearance, but often this meant appearing at events looking as though she was headed to a high school prom. In recent years, however, Underwood’s style has completely changed to become sophisticated and glam. She still can’t resist a sparkly dress, but at least now she knows what flatters her figure best and what is age-appropriate.

7. Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera came onto the scene in the late 90’s with a feminine, bubblegum pop image. She tried hard at the beginning of her career to escape it, which led her in the complete opposite direction. We personally think she was just trying to differentiate herself from Britney Spears and the other pop stars who were so obviously manufactured. The Christina Aguilera of today is a different woman. She knows how to get our attention without feeling the need to shock us.

6. Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston has almost always played it safe when it comes to fashion on the red carpet! Back in the ’90s her go-to was little black dresses, minimal makeup and blown out hair. She would dress pretty casually for events even, at times, wearing her glasses. It wasn’t totally uncommon for her to be photographed wearing mom jeans and baggy t-shirts. While Aniston still likes to keep her look low key, these days, she knows how to switch things up. Instead of wearing a little black dress, she will go for a red gown. She still typically keeps her hair straight and makes sure to keep her tan; however, she has come a long way from the frumpy things she used to wear at the beginning of her career. Aniston is clearly like a good red wine – she just gets better with age!

5. Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez, like many celebrities, donned quite heavy makeup and questionable attire in her early years of fame. Who can forget that green Versace dress that she wore to the 42nd Grammy Awards! It got people talking, but for all the wrong reasons. Over the years, Lopez’s style has definitely evolved. She’s gone from dressing too casually or too revealing to looking totally glam. Many have coined her a style icon and she created the iconic “Jlo glow” beauty look which many know her for. She’s definitely come a long way from her days of bright purple eyeshadow!

4. Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt became popular in the late ‘90s courtesy of her string of I Know What You Did Last Summer slasher flicks. Her contrast of innocence and smoldering eyes were definitely the source of her femme fatale power, but unfortunately, her red carpet ensembles were quite underwhelming. She seemed to favor crop tops and tight jeans, always showing a little too much skin to be tasteful. A lot has changed in recent years, however, and these days Hewitt’s style is a lot of more conservative and chic. She definitely dresses her age, but she makes sure to do so in a stylish way.

3. Jessica Simpson

Jessica’s golden locks and wide-eyed Southern swag made the reality show Newlyweds a huge hit. Before she hit the small screen, however, her look was definitely quite casual. When she wasn’t rocking a pair of jeans or a crop top, she was shocking us with her red pleather suits and denim capes. In recent years, however, Simpson has stepped out looking trendier than ever. Rumor has it that she works with British stylist Annabelle Tollman, who is known for styling Scarlett Johansson for red carpet events. Simpson has also learned a thing or two about style on her own. She has her own fashion empire, which is worth about $1 billion, and she had a spot on Fashion Star alongside Nicole Richie.

2. Kim Kardashian

When Kim Kardashian first made her mark in Hollywood, she always looked quite overdone. Considering that she had been a stylist and personal shopper for stars like Brandy and Lindsay Lohan, one has to wonder why she struggled so much with her own fashion. Since these early days, Kardashian has undeniably made strides when it comes to fashion, especially with the guidance of husband Kayne West! She goes for a more natural look in terms of makeup and she knows how to flatter her shape while still looking classy and sexy – not an easy feat. People may not like all the choices that she has made, but we think she has managed to cultivate a unique sense of style that suits her perfectly.

1. Mila Kunis

The Ukranian beauty wasn’t always the style queen that she is now. Back when she was first getting her start as an actress on That ‘70s Show, she clearly did not have a stylist, which would explain why she made such questionable decisions on the red carpet. Bootcut jeans, crop tops, and awkward-looking blouses seemed to be her go-to for events. In recent years, however, she has a made quite the comeback, thanks to her celebrity stylist, Petra Flannery. These days, she is known for her sultry looks and feminine silhouettes. On the red carpet, she rocks everything from tailored suits to full A-line skirts and she does so with a great deal of style and grace.
