Golden Globes 2019: All Of The Best & Worst After Party Looks Ranked

Published on January 8, 2019.

The 2019 Golden Globes kicked off awards show season this year in stride with a sea of stunning designer dresses. For the official red carpet, many celebrities opted for looks that are full glam and elegant, but then changed things up to something a little funkier for the after parties. Typically these after party-appropriate looks feature more skin and more sparkle! Follow along as we round up all of our best and worst looks from all of this year’s 2019 Golden Globes’ after parties:

16. Worst: Rumer Willis

Rumer Willis stepped out at the InStyle Golden Globes after party wearing a sparkly white dress that featured beading, ruffles, and sheer paneling. Our main issue with this look is the stifling ruffles along the bodice and neckline. These details really overpowered the otherwise quite elegant party look.

15. Best: Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift made a rare, unexpected appearance at the Golden Globes after her step out of the spotlight the past year. The look she wore to the after party is actually the same dress she wore on-stage at the Golden Globes, but for good reason because of how stunning this number is! The black Versace dress flaunted her curves and featured a lot of glitz.

14. Worst: Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt is a wildcard when it comes to fashion, but she tends to favor quite frilly girly pieces. While we’re all for highly feminine fashion, we’re not sure this look worn by Blunt at the InStyle after party was the most flattering option. The ruffles along the bust and skirt were quite bold and seemed to overwhelm her figure.

13. Best: Lea Michele

Lea Michele is definitely one of Hollywood’s most underrated fashionistas, and she proved that with her glam Golden Globes after party look this year! We absolutely love this bright orange color on Michele’s golden complexion.

12. Worst: Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum loves to be experimental and bold with her fashion, but sometimes this isn’t always for the best. We have to admit we weren’t the biggest fans of her look to the Amazon Prime after party. While the color and shape itself isn’t too bad, the neckline and bodice of this dress felt like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen.

11. Best: Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox absolutely nailed her after-party ensemble this year at the InStyle party! We love this silver glittering look against her rich skin tone. The dress fit her like a glove and featured cut-outs and detailing in all the right places.

10. Worst: Kiki Layne

Kiki Layne attended the InStyle Golden Globes after party wearing quite an interesting dress this year! While we love this shade of mint green and the subtle hint of sparkle on the dress, we can’t say we’re huge fans of all the ruffles. It definitely overpowered her figure, especially with the uncomfortable looking ruffle around her neck.

9. Best: Kristin Cavallari

While we weren’t in love with the look that Kristin Cavallari wore to the official Golden Globes red carpet, the look she wore for the after party made up for it! We absolutely love this sleek crimson gown on Cavallari. Her ensemble made a statement, but it was still simple and appropriate for a party with the high leg slit and diamond jewelry,

8. Worst: Kaley Cuoco

This year’s Golden Globes was just not Kaley Cuoco’s night when it came to fashion. Her look for the official Golden Globes red carpet wasn’t the most flattering and neither was this look she wore to the InStyle after party. The flowers didn’t flatter her figure, which is unfortunate for such a beauty like Cuoco!

7. Best: Regina King

On the other hand, Regina King killed her fashion game this year at the Golden Globes. Her rosegold dress for the official red carpet was absolutely gorgeous, and so was this look she wore to the after party. King stood smiling ear to ear with Golden Globe in hand wearing an asymmetrical silver dress with a dramatic train that had all eyes on her!

6. Worst: Camilla Belle

Camilla Belle stepped out at the InStyle awards looking totally fierce in this blue printed number, but we aren’t sure it was the most flattering option! The combination of the ruffle and the heavy print felt overwhelming. Luckily, her teal smokey eye was gorgeous and really made her stand out among the sea of celebrities.

5. Best: Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland attended the Golden Globes InStyle after party looking absolutely beautiful! We were huge fans of her shimmering green dress that featured long sleeves, a thigh-high slit, and deep neckline. It was the perfect fun party look that is still totally glamorous.

3. Worst: Jackie Cruz

Jackie Cruz definitely made a statement at the InStyle Golden Globes after party this year with her fashion! While we’re all for bold fashion, this look just wasn’t the most flattering. The oversized ruffle on the bodice was quite distracting and had a lot of fashion critics quite puzzled.

2. Best: Constance Wu

Crazy Rich Asians star Constance Wu looked drop dead gorgeous at the InStyle after party. We’re huge fans of this champagne number that featured silver beading and sparkle throughout. It was the perfect glitzy party look!

1. Worst: Kate Beckinsale

Of all the Golden Globes after party looks we witnessed this year, the most questionable definitely has to be this dress worn by Kate Beckinsale at the InStyle after party. The look featured ruffles, sheer paneling, and corset detailing which overall just didn’t flow together. Beckinsale is such a natural beauty that this look was all the more disappointing!
