SAG Awards 2018: 12 Most Disappointing Dresses
Published on January 22, 2018.The 2018 SAG awards red carpet was back in full swing after the symbolic fashion blackout from the Golden Globes. The stars were back in a sea of color, but unfortunately, that doesn’t necessarily mean for the best! The night was filled with many best dressed standout stars, but also a few that we had high expectations for that left us feeling quite underwhelmed. Follow along as we recall 12 of the most disappointing fashion moments from last night’s 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet:
12. Molly Sims
Model Molly Sims is such a natural beauty that this turquoise, ruffled look was all the more disappointing! It would seem she could do no wrong on the red carpet, but this look unfortunately proved otherwise. The look featured a flock of ruffles along the skirt and arms that seemed randomly placed and were highly unflattering. Although the color contrasted well with her blonde hair, we simply can’t overlook the frothy polka-dotted ruffles.

Thirteen-year-old Millie Bobby Brown has absolutely rocked the red carpet recently and many have even called her a Hollywood style icon to watch. We love the soft pink sparkling gown she wore on the red carpet, but her choice of footwear completely puzzled us! We totally understand sneakers being appropriate for her young age, but after seeing her step out in attire worthy of the cover of Vogue, we have to admit the classic Converse sneakers left us feeling quite disappointed.

Brunette beauty Diane Guerrero is absolutely stunning, but unfortunately, we can’t say the same about her powder blue dress! We love a strong two-piece set on the red carpet, but this look came across too theatrical and foofy. The tulle skirt seemed a little juvenile and we would have much preferred to see the star in a sleeker, more sophisticated cut.

Allison Janney has landed on quite a few best-dressed lists this awards show season, which is why we were all the more disappointed with this metallic number! The dress simply seemed to cling in all the wrong places and the sequins seemed slightly cheap looking. We would have much preferred to see Janney in something with a subtle sparkle rather than a full-blown disco-inspired look!

Yvonne Strahovski definitely had an obscure choice of attire last night with this all-lace garment! The look was sexy without being too revealing with its sheer lace and sophisticated neckline, but one factor we can’t overlook is the strange pocket-detailing along the bust!

We have to admit that 71-year old Susan Sarandon looks absolutely gorgeous for her age and her sparkly, off the shoulder gown looked absolutely fabulous! Unfortunately, her decision to rock diva sunglasses on the red carpet last night was not one of her finest fashion moments and definitely detracted from the glamour of this otherwise winning red carpet moment.

Elisabeth Moss left us totally underwhelmed with her choice of attire at the Critics’ Choice awards, and unfortunately, we’re feeling the same about her gown from the SAG awards last night. The gown simply seemed overly safe and didn’t flatter her figure well. We can absolutely appreciate the beauty of a simple gown, but this look just came across a little dull for the blonde beauty!

Saorise Ronon proved herself to be one of the classiest fashionistas at the Critics’ Choice Awards with her simplistic and elegant sparkle gown! This simple look from the SAG awards, however, definitely was not on par with her last look, which is why we felt quite disappointed! The look featured sparkle embellishment framing her arms in a strange way and a sad-looking ribbon cinching in her waist.

Samara Weaving stepped out in this bold pink gown at the SAG awards last night which we presume was an attempt at millennial pink gone wrong! The millennial pink shade was a celebrity fashion craze this year, from Gigi Hadid strutting the streets of New York to many celebrities rocking the shade on the red carpet. Samara Weaving’s SAG gown, however, was much more of a bright Barbie pink that definitely missed the mark on this color trend!
EPA/MIKE NELSON3. Laura Dern
Laura Dern is such a natural beauty that this chocolate brown gown did her no justice! The color did nothing for her complexion and we would have been much more satisfied to see her in a rich jewel tone or a soft pastel. Although the embroidery along the bodice was soft and pretty, the disappointing color selection was difficult to overlook.

We’re not totally sure if Goldie Hawn’s appearance on this list is due to her daughter or if it is well deserved on it’s own, but nevertheless, we felt disappointed! The one-shoulder number was a bright shade of powder blue that on its own maybe wouldn’t have been so bad, but next to her daughter’s pink number, the duo resembled cotton candy a little too closely!

Of all the red carpet moments at last night’s SAG awards, Kate Hudson undeniably left us the most disappointed! The star rocked a foofy, heart covered number that seemed overly juvenile and tacky. To be quite honest, this look totally puzzled us and didn’t seem like Hudson’s usually elegant and sophisticated style at all! We were disappointed, to say the least.
