Adam Lamberg To Reprise His Role As Gordo In The ‘Lizzie McGuire’ Reboot

Published on November 20, 2019.

On Wednesday, November 20, Disney+ announced that Adam Lamberg would return as Gordo in the Lizzie McGuire reprisal. Lamberg originated the role of Gordo, Lizzie’s best friend, and an aspiring filmmaker in the original series.

“Gordo was an essential piece of the puzzle to what made the original Lizzie McGuire so authentic and beloved,” said Duff in a statement. “I couldn’t imagine the series without him. I can’t wait for fans to see what he’s up to 15 years later and how he fits into Lizzie’s adult world.”

In the revival, Lizzie is “a little less frantic and a little more confident,” and the story will pick up where she is around 30 years old. She seemingly has her life together – her dream job as an assistant to a well-known New York City decorator, her dream guy, and a beautiful Brooklyn apartment — but she encounters a crossroads. Luckily for her, she can lean on her friends, her loving family, and her 13-year-old alter-ego in animated form, Lizzie to help her navigate life as an adult.

In addition to Lamberg reprising his role as Gordo, Hallie Todd will return to the series as Jo McGuire, Robert Carradine as Sam McGuire, and Jake Thomas as Matt McGuire.

The original Lizzie McGuire series, created by writer and producer Terri Minsky, ran from 2001 to 2004. The show focused on middle schooler Lizzie McGuire, who daydreamed about being popular, as her animated alter ego expressed her true feelings.

The premiere date for the Lizzie McGuire reboot has not yet been released.
