AMC Order Second Season Of ‘Better Call Saul’Published on June 23, 2014. Updated October 15, 2014
Perhaps this will alleviate some of Vince Gilligan’s fears. The brilliant creator of Breaking Bad recently sat at a roundtable, and discussed the prospect of the the hit show’s spinoff, Better Call Saul. He wasn’t sure… Would it take? If AMC’s interest suggests what we can expect, we’re in for a treat.
AMC has already ordered a second season of the spinoff, and has pushed the debut to 2015. This is what you call posturing. They want a little more of a tease for fans. It would seem possible within the second season, to see the story jump the timeline a bit–display some paralleled action with Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.
It’ll be fascinating when they do have an episode of Better Call Saul, which coincides with a past episode of Breaking Bad. They’ll do it. You know they will. It’s the smart thing to do. We’ll finally get to see Saul attend to the wild and weird clients he mentioned in passing while rapping with Walt and Jesse.
Enought of the fan-nerd speak, let’s strip it down to brass tacks.
Better Call Saul was set to premier late in 2014, but AMC has made the decision to bump that release to the first quarter of 2015. We can likely plan on it in February, post-Super Bowl and football season–or somewhere near the end of the season. The second season will follow suit in 2016. Season one will offer 10 episodes, and season two will present 13.
It’s everything you’re hoping for if you were a fan of Breaking Bad. Well, aside from wishing there was more Breaking Bad.
