Behati Prinsloo Reacts To Husband Adam Levine Leaving The Voice: ‘Good News For Me’
Published on June 6, 2019. Updated August 27, 2019There are a lot of loyal and longtime fans of The Voice who are still upset about Adam Levine’s abrupt exit from the popular competition series after 16 seasons as a coach, but one person who isn’t upset is his wife, supermodel Behati Prinsloo.
“Good news for me, good news for the kids,” Prinsloo, 31, said on the Today show on Wednesday, June 5. She added that she isn’t going to be used to having him around so much and home with their two daughters Dusty Rose and Gio Grace. “He is excited to get home and for the first time have nothing to do,” she said. “I’m like, ‘What am I going to do with him?’”
The news of Levine’s sudden exit was announced on May 24 when The Voice host Carson Daly shared the news on Today’s Pop Start segment.
After 16 seasons, Adam Levine, our beloved coach and friend, has decided to leave The Voice,” Daly began. “Adam was one of the original coaches that launched the show, winning the competition three times and inspiring many of the artists he worked closely with over the years.”
Daly then announced that Gwen Stefani would be returning in Levine’s place. “With Adam’s departure you might be wondering, ‘Well, who’s going to be sitting in that coveted big, giant red chair?’” Daly said. “And I’m happy to share this morning that Gwen Stefani will be returning for season 17. Gwen has sat in the chair before. She met her current boyfriend, Blake Shelton, through the show and we’re looking forward to having Gwen back.”
For his part, Levine shared a lengthy message on Instagram sharing his thanks to everyone involved in the show as well as shoutouts to the many coaches he has worked with over the years and simply stated “for me, it was time to move on.”
Of course many still suspected there was more to the story because as of May 10, only days before the announcement, Levine had already committed to season 17 and many are wondering what changed his mind so abruptly. According to reports Levine wasn’t very happy with changes made to the format of the show in season 16 and wasn’t enjoying the experience anymore.
