Bethany Hamilton Is Expecting: Find Out If It’s A Boy Or Girl

Professional surfer Bethany Hamilton has overcome a lot in her life so far and has shared her incredible story with readers via her 2004 autobiography, “Soul Surfer: A True Story Of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board,” – a book that became a feature film in 2011.
Her story stems from a shark attack in 2003, when she was only 13 years old, resulting in the loss of her left arm, and her incredible will to continue surfing. After the incident, Hamilton was back on her board in only three weeks.
Now at 25, Hamilton is happily married to husband Adam Dirks and the pair were excited to share their new story with the world – they are becoming parents!
The pair posted a video to her website stating, “We have a little surprise for you…baby on board!” She also stated that she is 22 weeks along, “It’s been a pretty crazy last four months finding out that we’re gonna be parents. Life’s kinda gonna be changing and [we’re] kinda just starting to prep for bringing a new little being into the world. It’s all really exciting.”
Hamilton added, “We’ve been prowling for names” and then her husband interrupted with the big news, “we found out it’s a boy! So we’re looking for boy names.”
To no surprise she also admitted she has plans to continue surfing, “I’ve been surfing throughout my whole pregnancy. I plan to surf as long as I can. Once the belly’s pretty big maybe [I’ll] just like mellow it out and spend more time swimming and just enjoying the ocean and doing other activities.”
Hamilton also discussed about having to “figure it out” and be “creative” when it comes to taking care of a baby with one arm, but she has the complete support of Dirks who is very excited to be a dad.
“As we start traveling more, getting into surfing, I know I’m going to be there to support my wife and support our family and do what I can…changing diapers on the beach while Bethany is out there surfing some gnarly wave. I’m all for that and I’m just going to be really stoked to be a dad!”
