Breaking: Rob Lowe Rescued
Published on June 26, 2014. Updated October 15, 2014This would be a much cooler headline if it were the 1980s. Nonetheless, it’s good to know that Rob Lowe and his family were rescued from a dangerous situation while vacationing in France.
Rob Lowe owns a home in France where his family enjoys taking their vacations. Rob and his wife, Sheryl, have two sons, Matthew and John. The four were awakened by a serious case of man vs. nature–something they weren’t expecting on their holiday.
Torrential rains led to flash floods, and the flash floods declared war on the Lowe family. In the video below, you can see the scene captured by John, which he posted for the world to see on social media. This was no gentle flooding during which carpets inconveniently got wet, and the ground became soggy. This was an incident of a raging river developing alongside a house, taking out trees and anything else in its path.
The Lowe family did the smart thing, and called upon local authorities to help. They would have been safe had they stayed in the house, but that’s with hindsight being 20/20. It’s better to be safe than sorry, and the fire department helped them out of the potentially dangerous situation.
If you’ve never experienced, or witnessed flash flooding, it’s not something to be trifled with. Still, there are more than a few videos available on the Internet offering one example after another of people trying to trudge through flash floods on foot, or even worse, in vehicles.
Check out the video below to see how crazy these waters got at the Lowe vacation home.
