Chad Michael Murray Posts First Photo As Riverdale’s Edgar Evernever
Published on February 25, 2019. Updated May 23, 2019Nearly 10 years after he left The CW’s One Tree Hill, Chad Michael Murray is returning to the network on its now biggest teen drama!
After it was confirmed in early February that the charming actor would be joining Riverdale in the role of “The Farm” leader Edgar Evernever, he has shared his first photo apparently in character.
The 37-year-old took to his Instagram over the weekend to share a photo of himself in his trailer, dressed in a blue shirt, denim overshirt and brown vest, writing, “Edgar Evernever heading to the farm… We’ve been having the best time in Vancouver.”
He added, “It’s full of Wonderful people and we got some snow today! Cheers friends. Be safe out there. #edgarevernever @thecwriverdale@thecw.”
An official description for the character reads: “As the enigmatic leader of the cult-like Farm, Edgar arrives in Riverdale to spread his teachings and heal the ravaged soul of this once wholesome town. Edgar is a charming, handsome guru, but is he hiding a more sinister agenda?”
Evernever has been repeatedly mentioned on the series since Betty Cooper’s sister Polly talked about finding refuge on The Farm with her twins, and Alice Cooper has since become a member of the cult-like society run by Evernever.
Murray left One Tree Hill at the end of season six in 2009 before returning for the season nine episode “Last Known Surroundings.” He has since appeared in several series and films including Agent Carter, Sun Records, Left Behind and Star. He most recently appeared in the Hallmark Christmas movie Road to Christmas as Danny Wise.
After the announcement that he would be joining Riverdale in the role, Murray posted another picture showing off his rock necklace, writing,” This is a rock. There are many like it but this one is mine #FMJ #Randommoviereference Excited to say #EdgarEvernever has arrived – @thecwriverdale @thecw.”
