Dancing With The Stars Pro Peta Murgatroyd Opens Up About Expanding Family With Maks Chmerkovskiy

Dancing With the Stars pros Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are ready to expand their family!

After the pair welcomed their son Shai Aleksander on January 4, 2017, Murgatroyd who was recently eliminated alongside her celebrity partner Lamar Odom in season 28, has revealed that she is hoping to get pregnant again before the next Dancing With the Stars season.

“I would love to have more kids,” she told Us Weekly. “We’re talking about it now and trying to — it sounds crazy — schedule it in. The next season will probably be in fall again so, can I fit a baby in before then? Probably can, so we’ll see if it’s doable, yeah.”

She added that she wants “to have two kids and then the third…later.”

The 33-year-old also revealed that with pros including Emma Slater, Jenna Johnson, and Cheryl Burke all getting married recently, Murgatroyd revealed that many of the pros have come to her for advice about how to work in starting a family with competing on the show. “A lot of them have come to me because … they liked how I scheduled [my pregnancy] and how I could get back to work,” she said. “I think women nowadays definitely are wanting to work still and not just be a stay-at-home mom. They still want to have careers, they still want to be out there being successful.”

She also revealed, “I think a lot of them are going to do it really soon. They’re all kind of on the verge of, ‘Yes, let’s do it now,’ or, ‘Let’s wait another six months.’”

For his part, Maksim Chmerkovskiy is definitely ready for more kids. “I can’t wait for more,” he said in 2018. “There’s so much going on in my head when I wake up [as a dad] — but it makes you a better person and it’s awesome.”

Peta’s update on growing her family comes after the Australian shared an emotional note after officially becoming a U.S. citizen.
