‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 18 Cast Announced!
Published on March 4, 2014. Updated October 15, 201418 seasons!? Has it really been 18 seasons? Dancing With The Stars is looking to revamp, and up the ante with the announcement of the Season 18 cast. It looks like they producers have secured a promising group.
To put it out there… No, obviously, Dancing With The Stars hasn’t been on the air for 18 years, but it has been in the televised mix since 2004, which means the show is cranking into its 10th year. With the popularity of the show, the producers began offering two seasons per calendar year. That popularity has waxed and waned, ebbed and flowed, but they keep coming back–more and more celebrities accepting the invitation to get their groove on.
Season 18 has some promising faces and figures, and will feature the first double amputee in any such competition. As in years past, the show will feature celebrities from the realm of reality TV, as well as actors, musicians and athletes. The athletes in this particular cast–ice dancing pair, Charlie White and Meryl Davis–are likely the early favorites; however, we shouldn’t underestimate those married to incredibly competitive pro athletes. Who might this be? Candace Cameron-Bure. After the drama of her suggesting that she’s meek, and a “submissive wife” in her marriage, she’s probably looking to crush the stereotype associated with such a statement.
Oh yeah, there are a lot of other well-known celebrities in the mix, including living legends like Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams). Until Star Wars V: Empire Strikes Back was released, I don’t think any of us knew that the Armenian culture was as far-reaching as Cloud City. And it seems so appropriate that Billy Dee will finally be in the mix on DWTS, as Colt 45 is my drink of choice while viewing.
