‘Days of Our Lives’ Actress, Alison Sweeney, Quits After 21 Years!
Published on January 22, 2014. Updated October 15, 2014Alison Sweeney is saying goodbye to Days of Our Lives.
The 37 year-old actress shocked fans yesterday when she announced on The Ellen Degeneres Show that she’s leaving the soap after 21 years. That’s right, Allison began acting on Days of Our Lives when she was just 16.
In that whole span of 21 years, Alison has never had more than 2-week vacation. She’s also kept busy in her role as the host of NBC weight-loss reality show The Biggest Loser. Check out the video to see her full quote about her decision to leave the show!
Even though she won’t have such a strict schedule anymore, Alison won’t exactly be “retiring” at the young age of 37. Alison plans to spend her free time being with her children (ages 9 and 5), writing and directing. She’s already published a few books, including ones about parenting, dieting and her experience being on a soap opera.
What about Alison’s Days of Our Lives character, Sami? That’s the big question for soap fans — but knowing how much drama Sami has been through, from being on Death Row to trying to sell her baby sister on the black market, it’s bound to be something big and twisted.
What do you think of her decision to leave the show?
