There is no doubt that actor Chris Pratt, 35, has become Hollywood’s new golden-boy. Pratt earned himself quite a loyal fan following from his time on Parks and Recreation, as well as small roles in several films. He then became the star of two of 2014’s two biggest films with The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy and never looked back.

Slimming down and packing on the muscle quickly transformed Pratt from comedic relief character to action movie star and sex symbol, making him the apparent frontrunner to take on Harrison Ford’s iconic role as Indiana Jones.

Reports from Deadline.com reveal that Indiana Jones is just the latest 80’s action franchise to be remade, following on the heels of Star Wars and Star Trek. Coincidentally J.J. Abrams, who directed both of the new Star Trek’s and newest Star Wars film Episode VII: The Force Awakens, is also behind the new Jones installment.

Although it seems Abrams is a sure thing, Pratt is not, and is being viewed right now as more of a fan-casting. Only time will tell if Pratt can secure this role.

The much anticipated Jurassic World is scheduled for release June 12, 2015.
