There is a well known somewhat subtle feud that has been simmering for quite awhile now between lifestyle queen Martha Stewart and lifestyle newcomer and award winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Like Paltrow, many celebrities are branching into the area as well.

Blake Lively runs her own lifestyle Preserve and Drew Barrymore makes and sells her own wine as well as has her own makeup line, fragrances, produces her own cooking show on the Esquire Network and is the editor-at-large for the lifestyle website Refinery29, but she in no way wants to be compared to the likes of Paltrow or Stewart.

Regardless of the obvious similarities between the stars, Barrymore insists there is a difference between her and them and takes a little jab at the other two in the process.

“Lifestyle seems to me, ‘I’m really good at a lot of things. Let me show you how to do them.’ I don’t feel like I’m that at all,” Barrymore stated at Refinery29’s holiday party.

While she seems to have quite the foundation for a lifestyle company, she says that it is not her intention at all to be known as a lifestyle mentor.

“I’m not sure if I would succeed at lifestyle. What I do like is a curation. I’m interested in a lot of things and I want to make wine and I love beauty. I’ve been in a makeup chair my whole life so I love doing a makeup line. And it’s more conducive to my life than movies right now, which I’ll do few and far between or I’m not going to see my children. I can’t accept that for myself right now. It’s not an option.”

With Paltrow, Stewart and Lively paving the way for the new celebrity hobby, next year both Ellen DeGeneres and Reese Witherspoon plan to join the trend as well with their own “lifestyle” websites and stores.
