Ed Sheeran Reveals He Is Single Once Again
Published on March 26, 2015.Ed Sheeran may have some of the best romantic songs on the airwaves right now, but after a disastrous split with fellow singer Ellie Goulding after she apparently cheated which he revealed through his song “Don’t”, it seems Sheeran has hit a relationship snag yet again.
In a recent radio interview with the Kyle and Jackie O Show, Sheeran confirmed he was single after being a bit taken aback by questions about his personal life.
The 24-year-old told the hosts “I wasn’t single, I was in a relationship for a long time,” when asked about romance in his life and presuming he was still with girlfriend of more than a year Athina Andrelos, Jackie asked, “Do you want to be single?”
Unsure how to respond, the singer stated, “Um” before the other host Kyle said, “He looks like he’s about to start crying—you shouldn’t have asked that.” A slightly recovered Sheeran finally said, “That’s interesting. That’s the first time I’ve spoken about that… I didn’t know you were going to ask. I didn’t even have it written down,” Kyle admitted. “I just wondered. I looked at you and thought, ‘He’s nice. I wonder if he’s with anyone?'”
Sheeran’s romantic woes however did not stop him from assisting the radio hosts in throwing a dream wedding for an unemployed fan wrote to them explaining his and his fiancee’s tragic story.
On top of throwing the wedding, the hosts announced a special “wedding singer” as Sheeran walked in through a side door, completely surprising the couple. Sheeran wished the couple a “Happy Wedding Day” and asked them “shall we?” inviting them to dance as he performed his hit “Thinking Out Loud.”
