Johnny Wactor Confirms His General Hospital Exit

Published on September 22, 2022.

Johnny Wactor has officially exited General Hospital (GH) following the demise of his character, Brando Corbin.

In an exclusive interview with Soap Opera Digest, the actor revealed that his time on the ABC soap has come to a close.

According to Wactor, there wasn’t a lot of time to process his final scenes, because he was so busy taping them all at once. “Because I was filming so many pages, I didn’t really have time to kind of think or be emotional or reflect on anything,” he explained.

Viewers had expected Brando to survive his encounter with the mysterious hook slasher, who had previously attacked Ava Jerome (played by Maura West). Alas, Corbin suddenly began seizing in his hospital bed and succumbed to his injuries.

Once he’d wrapped his final scene, Wactor took a moment to appreciate his co-stars and colleagues.

“I gave a little speech,” Wactor revealed. “I knew that I would want to say something just because of my time there and my relationships with the people in the cast and crew.”

“I was a little emotional,” Wactor admitted.

The actor, who joined GH in 2020, acknowledged that he didn’t think his character was on the chopping block. However, he doesn’t feel that he was unfairly let go.

“I’ve got no bad blood and I wish everyone at GH the best,” he added.
