Mad Men star Jon Hamm, 44, has secretly been battling issues of his own after years of starring as Don Draper with multiple sources confirming he has completed rehab treatment for alcoholism.

“With the support of his longtime partner Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm recently completed treatment for his struggle with alcohol addiction. They have asked for privacy and sensitivity going forward,” his rep said in a statement.

According to TMZ, Hamm checked himself into Silver Hill Hospital in Connecticut at the end of February, completing his 30-day treatment just this week before the premiere for the final season of his hit show on April 5.

In the past, Hamm has talked about the similarities and differences between himself and his on-screen character who is known for his drinking, smoking and womanizing ways. ”

I gave up [smoking] 10 years ago when I started teaching kids. I don’t miss the hacking cough in the morning or the mouth that tastes like cat litter, but I miss it when I’m on this show. It’s glamorous, I got to tell you. In the show, we know smoking kills, but we don’t give a s–t. These guys had three-martini lunches… I appreciate alcohol. I love the place that alcohol holds in our society, but I’d never attempt to drink as much as Draper,” he told The Guardian back in 2008, shortly after Mad Men began.
