Kate Middleton And Sophie, Countess Of Wessex Team Up To Video Chat With Nurses
Published on May 13, 2020.Kate Middleton and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, teamed up to call nurses around the world to offer their support in honor of International Nurses Day on Tuesday.
Amid ongoing health and safety concerns, the royal mothers took part in a series of calls across the globe with nurses in India, Cyprus, Malawi, Australia, Sierra Leone, the Bahamas, and the U.K, which are all countries of the Commonwealth.
“Thank you for all the hard work you do on a day-to-day basis,” Kate said during one of the calls.
The pair also called the LV Prasad Eye Institute and Apollo hospitals in Hyderabad, India where Sophie visited in 2019 to highlight the work they’re doing to prevent avoidable blindness. “It’s amazing that you’re able to still continue the support and the care that you’d normally provide even under these really difficult circumstances,” Kate told them.
“Thank you for what you’re doing,” Sophie added. ‘And the outcomes are so much better because of the interventions you are doing.”
The calls with Sophie and Kate are a few of many the royal family made to honor International Nurses Day. The royals released a montage video that shared snippets of all their conversations including some with Prince William, Princess Anne, and Prince Charles, among others.
