The legal drama doesn’t seem to have an end for Kelly Clarkson and her estranged husband Brandon Blackstock.

Blackstock has filed a formal response to Clarkson’s previous claims that his talent agency defrauded her. In the official court documents, Starstruck Management Group, which is run by Brandon’s father Narvel Blackstock, denies all of the allegations in Clarkson’s petition.

Clarkson filed her petition back in October 2020 and accused Starstruck Management of violating California Labor Code and the Talent Agencies Act by charging outrageous commission fees.

Starstruck’s response claims they are not subject to the Talent Agencies Act, which Clarkson referenced in her filing, because they did not perform their duties in California. They also denied Clarkson any relief whatsoever.

Clarkson’s attorney released a statement on Tuesday addressing the response: “We stand by our allegations that Starstruck violated the Talent Agencies Act, despite their boilerplate denials, and we look forward to trying the case before the Labor Commissioner in August.”

Starstruck Management Group represented Clarkson for the last 13 years and was paid a 15% commission on her gross earnings. The legal drama began between Starstruck and Clarkson when the agency filed a lawsuit against Clarkson claiming that she owed them more than $1.4 million in outstanding commissions.

Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in June 2020 after being married for seven years. The couple share daughter River Rose, 6, and son Remington Alexander, 4.
