KISS Announces Final Tour With ‘End Of The Road’ After More Than 40 Years

Published on September 20, 2018.

For over four decades, KISS has been bringing rock and roll to new heights, and now they are calling it a day.

During an appearance on the Tuesday, September 18 episode of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, the band announced that their upcoming tour would the be their last ever and is aptly named End of the Road.

The group joined the show to perform their hit “Detroit Rock City” before revealing their big news.

As of right now, the band has no tour dates released but have promised those that plan to attend, it will be one of the most memorable tours ever. “All that we have built and all that we have conquered over the past four decades could never have happened without the millions of people worldwide who’ve filled clubs, arenas and stadiums over those years,” KISS said.

“This will be the ultimate celebration for those who’ve seen us and a last chance for those who haven’t.”

“KISS Army, we’re saying good on our final tour with our biggest show yet and we’ll go out the same way we came in… Unapologetic and Unstoppable,” KISS added.

Current KISS members include Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer and was originally formed back in 1973 by Stanley, Simmons, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley.

In total, KISS has released 20 studio albums, 8 live albums, and 13 compilation albums plus over 60 singles and are recognized as one of the best-selling bands of all time with more than 100 million record sales worldwide.

Earlier this year, Stanley opened up about knowing that the band couldn’t go on forever.

“The thought of me not being involved certainly comes to mind,” Stanley told the magazine. “I’m not sure about the idea of KISS coming to an end. We’ve built something that’s so iconic, and I think it transcends any of the members so I can certainly see me not being there, seriously.”

“I don’t want to go leave home,” Stanley explained to Billboard. “I have a family and I have children and, honestly, I think my primary responsibility is to be a dad, and I don’t want to miss out on that. And certainly, as we got older, we know that life is finite and I pick and choose what I want to do at this point.”
