Lena Dunham Responds To Accusations She Molested Her Sister

Lena Dunham is not considered a typical celebrity, as she could care less about what people think of her body image, she is very opinionated and is fine with being considered “different”, which are all things she explores in her new memoir, “Not That Kind of Girl.”

However, her profound openness and ability to talk about pretty much everything seems to have backfired when it comes to her memoir after she has been accused of molesting her sister due to some things she wrote in her book.

In the excerpt, Dunham states, “One day, as I sat in our driveway in Long Island playing with blocks and buckets, my curiosity got the best of me. Grace was sitting up, babbling and smiling, and I leaned down between her legs and carefully spread open her vagina. She didn’t resist and when I saw what was inside I shrieked.”

The excerpt continues to explain her mother came running to discover that Grace had shoved pebbles in her vagina and that her mother didn’t ask Lena why she had opened her sister’s vagina.

After reading that story, the website, Truth Revolt and the news magazine, National Review, have both accused Dunham of sexually abusing her sister.

The 28-year old actress became incensed by the allegations and took to her Twitter to defend herself, writing, “The right wing news story that I molested my little sister just isn’t LOL- it’s really f–king upsetting and disgusting. And by the way, if you were a little kid and never looked at another little kid’s vagina, well, congrats to you. Usually this is stuff I can ignore but don’t demean sufferers, don’t twist my words, back the f–k up bros. I told a story about being a weird 7 year old. I bet you have some too, old men, that I’d rather not hear. And yes, this is a rage spiral. Sometimes I get so mad I burn right up. Also I wish my sister wasn’t laughing so hard.”

Even though she insists the story does not describe molestation, she wrote some other questionable things about her relationship with her sister, “Basically, anything a sexual predator might do to woo a small suburban girl I was trying,” Dunham wrote when talking about how she wanted to feel “needed” by her little sister.

The backlash has also extended to many of Dunham’s fans, who are firing back at her on Twitter, writing things like, “@lenadunham Your whimsical story of sexual abuse kinda backfired, didn’t it? You consider molestation endearing instead of abhorrent.”
