Macaulay Culkin Responds To Death HoaxPublished on November 10, 2014.
Being a celebrity means a lot of things, one of them is that pretty much everything is everyone’s business, and a true marker of being a celebrity is when somebody creates a death hoax to send fans into a panic.
While it is often obvious that Adam Sandler did not die snowboarding and Dwayne Johnson wasn’t killed on set, this weekend a death hoax circulated around former child star Macaulay Culkin.
Now at 34-years old, Culkin always looks on the verge of death and his poor health is often speculated about because of his painfully thin appearance and sunken eyes make him look skeleton like.
Culkin responded playfully to the rumors about his death by parodying a scene from the 1989 cult classic, Weekend at Bernie’s.
He posted an Instagram picture to his band’s page of him appearing dead being held up by a friend with the caption, “Weekend at bernies with @anchovywarhol #greenroom.”
In the film, two men discover their boss is dead so they use his body in a puppet like manner to make people believe he’s still alive.
Since Culkin is alive and well, he posted another picture saying “we’re on tour you silly people,” in reference to his band, The Pizza Underground, a comedy rock band who parody The Velvet Underground.
Culkin plays the kazoo, is a percussionist and provides vocals for the band who are currently on a U.S. tour from October 17- December 6.
