Madelaine Petsch Defends Riverdale Costar Vanessa Morgan Amid Divorce

Riverdale star Madelaine Petsch is defending her friend and co-star Vanessa Morgan.

Morgan has been receiving a lot of hate online following news that her estranged husband Michael Kopech filed for divorce after she revealed she was expecting her first child with him.

In response to one fan congratulating the actress, another social media user responded with, “Don’t disrespect our pitcher like that.”

That’s when Petsch stepped in. “Honestly, if I see one more comment like this I’ll lose it,” she wrote, adding, “Vanessa is a beautiful mother to be and the hate and disrespect I’m seeing on this post about her bringing a new life into this world is disgusting.”

After playing a couple on Riverdale, Petsch and Morgan have become close friends. They are so close in fact that Petsch was one of Morgan’s bridesmaids when she married Kopech back in January.

The White Sox player filed for divorce in his home state, Texas, on June 19; however, news of it just recently broke. He and Morgan announced their engagement in July 2019 after one year of dating.

A representative for the Riverdale actress has confirmed that Kopech is the father of Morgan’s child, but did not comment on the divorce filing.
